Lea M. McGee is Emeritus Professor and Reading Recovery Trainer at the Ohio State University where she was the Marie Clay Chair of Reading Recovery and Early Literacy. She previously taught at the University of Alabama, Boston College, and Louisiana State University. She is author and co-author of several books including Designing Early Literacy Programs for Pre-K and Kindergarten Children (2nd ed.) and Literacy's beginnings: Supporting young readers and writers (6th ed.). She has published many book chapters and articles including in The Reading Teacher, Language Arts, and Reading Research Quarterly. Dr. McGee frequently works with teachers in their classrooms, and is a recognized expert in Reading Recovery programs.
